Iroquois Constitution- Questions

2a. The Cousin Lord(Council Members)
      He is the Chief confederate lord of the onondaga, on whose land the council fire was lit.

3a. He furnishes four strings of shells or wampum one span in length bound together at one end.
      It shows that his pledge to the confederate lords, that he will live according to the constitution of the great peace and exercise justice in all affairs.

4a. They give thanks to trees, animals, winds, thunderers, the sun, and the moon. The tree is also a symbol for peace.

5a. Yes, to be a good leader you have to be truthful to your tribe, and your heart should be filled with peace and good will. You should also be able to build a strong surface for the unborn to grow on.

1b. He is welcoming the new lords, and showing them their gratitude and greeting them.
      To make sure that they keep in mind whats best for the people.

2b. Because their tribes were close like family. But some of the people within their own tribe could be related.

3b. A leader should have a heart filled with peace and good will, and have patience. They shouldn't have furry or anger.

4b. They revolved around it. They treasured everything it gave to them, and would always thank it.
