The hitchhiker cajoled the women to giver her a ride up the road by telling her his wife was about to give birth. So she gave in, then he killed her and stole her car.

The rotting milk was a catalyst to the fridges smell.

My caustic remarks to the teacher about his knowledge of literature made him send me to the principals office.

The english capitulated to the chinese when they came over with giant robot guns.

The celestial body was moving fast towards earth.

the process of releasing, and thereby providing relief from, strong or repressed emotions.
The boy experienced catharsis after finding out who killed his mom.
10) Carping- Verb
complain or find fault continually, typically about trivial matters
The students kept carping about the upcoming test, so the teacher gave them a week to study.
